Ellen Trout Zoo request ‘used’ live Christmas trees for animals

The holiday season is over but you may want think twice before you throw away your Christmas tree.

The Ellen Trout Zoo is accepting used Christmas trees to put in some of their animal’s habitats. Zoo officials say the trees provides the animals with hours of play and enrichment.

They’re asking for any size of tree, but they must be real, unadorned, and must not have any flocking, tinsel, or any other type of decoration.

You can drop your trees off at either the admissions or administration buildings.
